AIDS Pandemic
Give a Day is a movement of Canadians who are responding to the crisis of AIDS in Africa by giving a day's pay on World AIDS Day, December 1st.

The following facts from UNAIDS make it clear why Give a Day is growing:
AIDS is one of the primary causes of global mortality and remains the leading cause of adult death in sub-Saharan Africa
There are 33 million people living with HIV - 22 million of them in sub-Saharan Africa alone. Globally, women account for half of all HIV infections
Two-thirds (67%) of all people infected with HIV live in sub-Saharan Africa.
Without antiretroviral treatment, most HIV-infected children die before their fifth birthday.
Last year alone 1.5 million people died of AIDS related illnesses in sub-Saharan Africa.
As each day passes, thousands die from an illness that is both preventable and treatable with the use of anti-retroviral medication.
